NH Shellfish Farmers Initiative

The NH Shellfish Farmers Initiative seeks to raise awareness of New Hampshire grown shellfish, an environmentally sustainable industry. This is achieved through advocacy, education, and public awareness.

NHFSI is not a non-profit or legal entity. We cannot accept monetary incentives; only individual farms can. This is a group of NH oyster growers who get together to help each other out and improve the industry.

The Initiative’s original coordinator was Kelsey Meyer, a Ph. D. student from the University of New Hampshire whose academic expertise is focused on the study of and the impact of green crab on the oyster population in the Great Bay. Her calm presence has been a unifying force for our collection of oyster farmers, and her experience is an asset to this industry.
